As part of a commemorative project celebrating both the 100th anniversary of Shigeru Mizuki’s birth and the 100th anniversary of the planetarium, the GeGeGe no Kitaro (6th season) planetarium program “GeGeGe no Kitaro: Kappa’s Terraforming” will start screening at planetariums nationwide in September 2023. This is an inspiring story about humans and yokai who share a dream of reaching space together! Story Summary

One day, Nezumi Otoko meets Yamamoto, a JAXA employee. Yamamoto is working on a plan to terraform Mars (making it a livable environment like Earth) and aims to create the first Kappa astronaut. Sensing a money-making opportunity, Nezumi Otoko entices Kasuke the Kappa by saying, “If you become the first yokai to go to Mars, you’ll be super popular with girls!” They visit JAXA, but…
